Invitation to a discussion about Theater for Development with Ngugi wa Mirii, National Coordinator of the Zimbabwe Association of Community Theater, on March 12, 1990. Mr. Mirii is an adult educator and a composer/song writer who is working with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the Bishops of Southern Africa on cultural education programs and community theater for youth in the five Mozambican refugee camps in Zimbabwe. Mr. Mirii's U.S. tour is sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers and the Disciples of Christ. Theater for development has been widely accepted in many parts of the world and is growing in many parts of the United States. The leaflet mentions social issues, community work, popular culture, song, dance, prose, and poetry.
