About early December 1984
Leaflet advertising a rally at the South African Mission to the United Nations on December 17, 1984 to show support for the fighting people of Southern Africa in conjunction with the 23rd anniversary of the founding of Umkhonto We Sizwe, "The Spear of Nation" (the armed wing of the African National Congress - ANC). The rally will also protest the Reagan administration’s "Constructive Engagement" policy on South Africa. The leaflet mentions apartheid and SWAPO (South West African People's Organization). [Note: the New York Southern Africa Coalition is most likely the New York Southern Africa Solidarity Coalition.] This leaflet was digitized by The Freedom Archives, which provided it to the African Activist Archive Project.
