To: The Executive Board
by George Houser

Memorandum to the Executive Board of the American Committee on Africa with statement made by George Houser to the Trusteeship Council of the United Nations on February 5. This is only the second time the Trusteeship Council has heard an oral petition from someone who was not a resident of a Trust Territory. Houser also met with Mr. Fletcher-Cooke, Chief Secretary of the Tanganyika government, who is here for a discussion of Tanganyika in the Trusteeship Council. Fletcher-Cooke said the Tanganyika government would give a sympathetic hearing to my request to take my name off the prohibited immigrant list. [Note: A copy of the oral testimony is available on this website. At the time, Tanganyika was a colony of the United Kingdom.]
