Contents: 1. George Houser reported that a preliminary discussion would be held in the fall about possibly holding a conference of Negro leadership on US policy towards Africa. • 2. The Executive Director was asked to begin preliminary explorations for a person to join our staff in the fall as Projects Director. • 3. It was reported that all medical supplies that have been collected for Angola so far has been sent through Dr. Liahuca, who works with the UPA • 4. In preparation for the discussion at the June Board meeting about program perspectives for ACOA, the Executive Director as well as others might prepare memoranda • 5. James Robinson will prepare a memorandum tor the next Steering Committee meeting about procedure for affiliating local chapters to ACOA • The minutes discuss A. Philip Randolph, Hope Stevens, John Morsell, the NAACP, John Davis, American Society of African Culture (AMSAC), James Farmer, CORE (Congress of Racial Equality), Clarence Jones, the Gandhi Foundation, the South, equal rights, the MPLA, aid to refugees inside Angola, Peter Weiss, and John Marcum.
