The press release announces a statewide press conference in Trenton on June 10 organized by the New Jersey Anti-Apartheid Mobilization Coalition and District 65, U.A.W.  Supporters and endorsers of the June 14 regional anti-apartheid demonstration in New York City will be at the press conference, including Democratic Senator Wynona M. Lipman of the 29th District; Robert Yackel, Director of the Public Employees Department, A.F.L.-C.I.O., Leslie Roberts, Regional Director, District 65, U.A.W. and Chairperson of the New Jersey Anti-Apartheid Mobilization Coalition; Archer Cole, President of the Industrial Union Council, A.F.L.-C.I.O..; Dudley Safferty, Associate General Secretary of the New Jersey Council of Churches; Valorie Caffee, Chair, N.O.W.-New Jersey Task Force to Combat Racism. Statements of support by Essex County Executive Peter Shapiro and Representative Peter Rodino will also be read. The June 14 rally is anticipated to be the largest anti-apartheid rally in U.S. history.
