Mailing including a cover letter and a leaflet. The cover letter informs people of a special tribute to honor Dennis Brutus and says 1986 marks the anniversary of Brutus' 20th year of exile. The cover letter says Brutus has waged an unrelenting battle across the country against apartheid in South Africa and racism in the United States. The cover letter says in celebration of his resilient spirit, the film, Stubborn Hope, will be premiered in Chicago at the Midland Hotel on this occasion. The leaflet on the file Stubborn Hope: A story of a South African exile says the film by Peggy Stern documents the cross-country odyssey of Dennis Brutus - poet-activist-exile - as he traverses one coast of America to the other, fighting to make Americans and the world understand the degradation and glory of his homeland - South Africa.
