The newsletter describes activities planned for a National Day of Withdrawal on June 16 in conjunction with KOPANO, a black South African organization based in California. It reports on a demonstration against loans to South African and Chile and resolution voted on at the April Bank of America stockholders meeting. The Student Government of Sacramento State University has begun withdrawing its accounts from the bank. Updates are included on state divestment legislation, the divestment campaign at the University of California, and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors' urging the Statement Department that the South African consulate be closed. Short national news stories discuss U.S. investment in South Africa, divestment campaigns on campuses across the country, actions against sales of Krugerrand, and the bank campaign in Canada. International news briefs focus on bank campaigns in Britain, Belgium, the Caribbean, and France, South African media censorship, and the Cape Dutch Reformed Church cutting its ties with the church in Holland. A "Statement of Agreement" is provided to encourage people to participate in the Stop Banking on Apartheid campaign.
