Mailing sent to Public Affairs Producers with a public service announcement. The mailing says the Fund for Democratic Elections in South Africa (FDESA) was established as a national "people-to-people" campaign to directly support political campaigns and electoral efforts in South Africa. The mailing says as part of our efforts, FDESA has established a toll free contribution line, 1-800-MANDELA, that is available nationally; callers to 1-800-MANDELA hear a message from ANC President Nelson Mandela and FDESA National Co-Chair Danny Glover before they are switched to a live operator who will take their VISA or Mastercard contribution to support the elections. The mailing says enclosed is a 15 second Public Service Announcement with Danny Glover encouraging people to call 1-800-MANDELA along with a follow up piece for your announcers to read after the PSA plays.
