The mailing thanks people for their support of the labor reception for Neo Mnumzana, chief representative of the African National Congress (ANC) at the United Nations. The reception was attended by 64 people from a least 10 unions and locals; it raised $224 for the ANC. Mnumzana also spoke at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the ANC, attended by more than 300 people, including many distinguished guests. Building on the labor reception, people are invited to a meeting on April 22 to launch a labor committee on South Africa. The mailing is signed by Paul Blaski, Business Agent - Roofers and Waterproofers Local #54; Bill Corr, Amalgamated Transit Union Local #587; David Della, Secretary-Treasurer - ILWU-IBU Region 37; Rick Erickson, Executive Boardmember - UFCW Local 1105; Dan Gilman, Business Agent - SEIU Local 6; Glenn Goldstein, Executive Vice-President for Organization - 1199 Northwest; Alonzo Suson, Dispatcher - Organizer, ILWU-IBU Region 37; and Shirly Walker, Amalgamated Transit Union #587.
