PROPOSED PRINCIPLES OF UNITY FOR SEATTLE COALITION AGAINST APARTHEID
by Seattle Coalition Against Apartheid
Seattle, Washington, United States
Undated, December 1984 or earlier?
The proposed principles of unity say the Seattle Coalition Against Apartheid condemns the system of apartheid and white minority rule in South Africa; opposes the policy of constructive engagement being pursued by the U.S. government; opposes U.S. corporate investment, bank loans, and trade with South Africa; supports a full economic, political, diplomatic, military, and cultural boycott of South Africa until the system of apartheid is completely dismantled; opposes South Africa's illegal occupation of the sovereign nation of Namibia; supports United Nations resolution #435 which calls upon South Africa to withdraw from Namibia; and opposes South Africa military and economic attacks on neighboring frontline states, particularly Angola, Mozambique, and Botswana. The document says the Seattle Coalition Against Apartheid should develop a plan for implementing the points of unity over at least the next six months. • STRATEGY
