The newsletter includes a copy of a letter from Oliver Tambo from the African National Congress office in Lusaka to 7-year-old Yadira Jimenez. It reports on the December vote of the United Federation of Teachers Executive Board recommending a policy of full divestment of the Teachers' Retirement System. EAA is field-testing its curriculum kit, which includes a slide show, math curriculum by Claudia Zaslavsky, and other suggested activities in all curriculum areas. The newsletter asks people to write to Kellogg's Co. urging them to divest. It reports that nearly 10,000 South Africans under the age of 18 have been detained. The newsletter advertises a general meeting of Educators Against Apartheid on June 1, 1987 at Riverside Church. Contents: FULL DIVESTMENT NOW! • APARTHEID IS WRONG, EAA'S CURRICULUM KIT • THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN DETAINED • EDUCATORS AGAINST APARTHEID TO HOLD ELECTIONS
