Leaflet advertising a meeting on April 4, 1987 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church that will include Rev. J.M. Lawson, Jr.; Dr. Charlie Clements; Assemblywoman Maxine Waters; Fr. Luis Olivares, C.M.F.; Delores Huerta; and Sangre Machehual. The leaflet includes a quote by Martin Luther King, Jr. in which he discusses Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Peru, Mozambique and South Africa. Slogans in the leaflet include “Support for peace and freedom in Central America and Southern Africa”; “Stop the U.S. war in Central America”; “Stop U.S. government and corporate support for apartheid”; “Stop U.S. aid to the Contras! Stop U.S. aid to UNITA!”; and “Build security at home by funding human needs.” The leaflet advertises special events, including a March 21 teach-in commemorating the Sharpeville Massacre and the International Day for the Elimination of Racism at Brookins AME Church and a March 24 candlelight procession and march commemorating the seventh anniversary of the assassination of Archbishop Oscar Romero.
