The newsletter includes the full text of the Freedom Charter. It also reports on the L.A. to Namibia 435 Committee which sent an observer delegation to Namibia for three weeks in October. The newsletter includes a report by Mabue Settledge, one of the observers. Settledge discusses Peter Lamoela (a minister of the Congregational Church and member of the Council of Churches of Namibia), SWAPO (South West Africa People's Organization), PLAN, FAPLA, DTA (Democratic Turnhalle Alliance), Ovamboland, Koevoet, UNTAG, FNLA, and UNITA leader Jonas Savimbi. Other Committee observers were Nancy Buchamon, James Simmons, and Delmer Bery. The newsletter reports that the ANC and other anti-apartheid organizations have called on the international community not to allow the rescheduling of South Africa's massive foreign debt. It discusses the confession of Buana Nofomela, Dirk Coetzee, Law and Order Minister Adriaan Vlok, the Afrikaner Resistance Movement, and President F.W. de Klerk. It reports that a CIA plane crashed en route from Zaire to Angola with military equipment for UNITA. Contents: THE L.A.
