Letter to H.E. Mr. Sverker C. Astrom, Chairman, United Nations Trust Fund for South Africa at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations, announcing a contribution of $50,000 to the United Nations Trust Fund for South Africa from the African Aid and Legal Defense Fund, whose Trustees support the U.N. Fund's aims and activities in providing legal defense for the victims of apartheid legislation, giving relief aid to the families of political prisoners and granting aid to the many refugees from South Africa. Copies of the letter were sent to H.E. Mr. J.T.F. Iyalla (Nigeria) and Mr. E.S. Reddy. [Note: 1) The African Aid and Legal Defense Fund changed its name to The Africa Fund in 1969. 2) The name is often rendered ES Reddy.]
