The 1979 calendar contains a photograph or drawing for each month, a poem “Africa, Continent of Light” by Steve Goldfield, and in introduction to the Liberation Support Movement, with an advertisement of LSM pamphlets. It also contains a list of liberation movements including the African National Congress (ANC), the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF), the Revolutionary Front for the Liberation of East Timor (FRETILIN), the Popular Front for the Liberation of Oman (PFLO), the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saquiat El-Hamra and Rio de Oro (POLSARIO), the People’s Revolutionary Party (PRP-Zaire), the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO), the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU), and the Zimbabwe Africa People's Union (ZAPU). Photographs include collective agriculture in Mozambique and a May Day demonstration in Angola and drawings by Richard Brown, Rupert Garcia, Selma Waldman, Lisa Kokin, and Dean Alexander. The calendar includes quotes by Agostino Neto and Amilcar Cabral. Descriptions of images and significant dates mention PAIGC, capitalism, apartheid, armed struggle, Eduardo Mondlane, FRELIMO, MPLA, Angolan Women's Day, International Women's Day, Zimbabwe Day, the Sharpeville massacre, the South African army, Kampuchea, the anti-fascist coup in Portugal, Vietnam, International Workers Day, the Day of Solidarity with Palestinian struggle, Africa Liberation Day, Soweto mass demonstrations, South Africa Freedom Day, Cape Verde independence, Cuba, Moncada Barracks, South Africa Women’s Day, Juventude Africana Amilcar Cabral, the Patriotic Front, the USSR October Revolution, East Timor, Spanish colonialism, Joshua Nkomo, and Robert Mugabe.
