The Phelps-Stokes Fund was established in 1911 by the bequest of U.S. philanthropist Caroline Phelps Stokes as a non-profit foundation whose working theme is "Education for Human Development." The Phelps-Stokes Fund is committed to the improvement of education for Africans, African Americans, Native Americans and needy white students.
