Minnesotans Against Apartheid was formed in 1984 or 1985 and organized protests and forums. Mel Reeves, one of the founders of Minnesotans Against Apartheid, worked at the time at Clergy and Laity Concerned (CALC) and his role staring Minnesotans Against Apartheid was related to his work CALC. Minnesotans Against Apartheid hosted an event featuring Fred Dube of the African National Congress (ANC). Minnesotans Against Apartheid worked with University of Minnesota students on a campaign to get the University to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. Minnesotans Against Apartheid participated in the anti-Krugerrand effort. Minnesotans Against Apartheid worked closely with the American Committee on Africa.
