The Divest Now Coalition (DNC) was a student anti-apartheid organization at the University of Illinois at Chicago. DNC was a sponsor of the Midwest Student Conference Against Apartheid and Racism at the University of Chicago on November 16-17, 1985. Description: The office of Vice Chancellor of Student affairs was created in 1983 at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) as a subordinate administrative unit under the office of the Chancellor. It is responsible for Student Organizations and Activities, Foreign Student Affairs, and Student Financial Aid. These records were created or kept by Michael Ginsburg, who served as Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The vast majority of the collection documents the activities of the UIC anti-apartheid student organization Divest Now Coalition and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs' attention to issues affecting UIC's Chinese student population.
