The African Students and Workers for African Liberation (ASWAL) existed in the 1970s. ASWAL was a short-lived umbrella organization led by some progressive African academics in the Boston area. ASWAL joined in some activities with the Boston Coalition for the Liberation of Southern Africa (BCLSA).
