As a result of organizing in San Francisco in the 1970s, the South African Consulate was ousted from that city. The Consulate tried to move to Los Angeles, but Southern Africa Support Coalition (SASC) mobilized the people to lobby the city council and as a result the Consulate was not allowed. This button was apparently part of the campaign in Los Angeles, and was likely produced by SASC. The consulate then moved to Beverly Hills, a separate municipality.
