On November 10th, 1995. Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight colleagues were hanged in Nigeria. There only crime was exposing Shell’s role in polluting their homeland. In October 1977 Shell celebrates its 100th anniversary. At the same time, communities from Columbia to California and Peru to Nigeria are organizing against Shell’s deadly practices.
Remember Ken Saro-Wiwa. Stop Shell before it kills again.
Poster issued as part of a campaign to boycott Shell Oil because of its operations in Nigeria. Shell operated Ogoniland in the Niger Delta. Ken Saro-Wiwa was an environmentalist and President of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP). This poster was digitized by Doug Minkler who provided it to the African Activist Archive Project.
