At the battle of Isandhlwana in January 1879, 20,000 Zulus warriors under King Cetewayo defeated the many British troops, killing 52 British Officers, circa 800 other soliders and an equal number of African soldiers in the "Natal Native Contingent" serving with the British. The invasion force was almost completely annihilated. A British soldier said "...they were like lions and not afraid of death." The button was issued by or on behalf of the African National Congress of South Africa, possibly in Zambia.
