Fight apartheid on May Day!
More than 1,000 people participated in a May Day march in Boston, Massachusetts, to protest apartheid and U.S. involvement in South Africa. One of the targets was the First National Bank of Boston, which was a partner in a major loan to South Africa. Organizers included Youth Against War and Fascism (YAWF) and the African National Congress (ANC). Sponsors included several state representatives and labor officials.
