Fight apartheid on May Day!
More than 1,000 people participated in a May Day march in Boston, Massachusetts, to protest apartheid and U.S. involvement in South Africa. One of the targets was the First National Bank of Boston, which was a partner in a major loan to South Africa. Organizers included Youth Against War and Fascism (YAWF) the African National Congress (ANC) and the Boston Coalition for the Liberation of Southern Africa (BCLSA). Sponsors included several state representatives and labor officials. Photo reprinted from Southern Africa magazine, June/July 1977 available on this website.
