The letter says the U.S. government is moving rapidly toward recognizing the newly-installed sham government of "Zimbabwe-Rhodesia" and lifting the U.N.-imposed sanctions against that puppet government, in the wake of the recent fraudulent elections. While the U.8. has always secretly violated sanctions, their lifting would open the way for a flood of new economic and military aid to save the tottering colonial regime, thus delaying the now close-at-hand victory of the Patriotic Front's liberation struggle and causing greater sacrifices in blood for the Zimbabwean people. The letter urges people to participate in an outreach campaign to pressure President Carter not to lift sanctions and a demonstration against recognition and sanctions lifting on June 16th at Federal Building in San Francisco.
