Brochure of Artists and Athletes Against Apartheid. The brochure documents the injustices of the white minority South African government against the black majority population and explains why the organization supports a sports and cultural boycott of South Africa. Artists and athletes who support this organization have pledged that they will not perform in South Africa, either at the “Sun City” resort in the Bophuthatswana “homeland,” which was built to attract international celebrities, or elsewhere in the country. The brochure includes photographs of Arthur Ashe and Harry Belafonte, Co-Chairpersons of Artists and Athletes Against Apartheid. The brochure also includes a photograph of Hector Petersen, the first child to be shot dead by police in Soweto on June 16, 1976. The brochure lists members of the Executive Committee and Associated Organizations.
