Leaflet advertising a Soweto Day Demonstration on Thursday, June 16 at the South African Consulate in Chicago organized by the Illinois Labor Network Against Apartheid and the Chicago Committee in Solidarity with Southern Africa. The leaflet says union members are urged to join in a protest on June 16 commemorating the 12th anniversary of the Soweto massacre in South Africa; bring your union banners and jackets. The leaflet says demand freedom for all political prisoners and demand that the U.S. Congress pass Comprehensive Sanctions (S.556/H.R.1580). The leaflet says demand the release of Moses Mayekiso, General Secretary of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, who is being tried for "treason" by the apartheid regime.
