The press release says February 1, 1985 is student and youth day at the South African embassy; over 200 students and young people will be arrested, the largest number of people arrested to date. Almost 1,000 people will also be demonstrating. The press release says the demonstration will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the student "sit-in" movement at Greensboro, N.C. The theme "linking the struggles" will symbolize a re-commitment to the historical role students have played in the struggle for justice. Spokespersons for the independent student coalition will make statements and answer questions at a press conference at 4: 15 P.M. at the Embassy site. Paul Strauss is the group's media coordinator.
