Notice of meeting of the Illinois Labor Network Against Apartheid on February 8, 1988 at UAW (United Auto Workers) Local 477 chaired by Stephen M. Culen, Executive Director of AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) Council 31. The meeting will discuss (1) a petition drive to demand that South Africa free labor leaders who are on trial for "treason" and that the U.S. government take stronger action; (2) a labor demonstration in solidarity with South African trade unionists and others who are opposing apartheid; (3) the Shell Boycott; and (4) Comprehensive Sanctions. All local unions are welcome to send representatives. (A similar notice was distributed by Service Employees Joint Council No. 1 of SEIU.)
