Copy of a letter to Alderman Burton Natarus, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Chicago City Council from W. G. Stewart, Director, Region 4, UAW. The letter says I am writing to you regarding the Selective Purchasing Ordinance introduced in the City Council in July of 1988; the proposed ordinance would ban· the purchase of commodities and the use of credit cards from those companies that are involved in the petroleum industry in South Africa; I hope that the proposed ordinance will be called up for hearings at the earliest possible opportunity; I would appreciate your notifying me of the date of the hearings, as the United Auto Workers will testify in favor of passage of the ordinance.
