Text of a 30-second and 60-second public service announcement (PSA) about the West Coast Premier of the highly-acclaimed film SOUTH AFRICA: THE RISING TIDE, along with NAMIBIA: A STUDY IN COLONIALISM on October 1 at Epic West in Berkeley and on October 4 at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco. The shows will benefit $top Banking on Apartheid, a community coalition united to enforce socially responsible bank investments. The national coordinator for the South Africa bank campaign and a person recently returned from southern Africa will give short presentations. The PSA mentions repression in South Africa, growing resistance in the black townships, the military defense buildup, U.S. corporate investments that support the white minority regime, South Africa’s ties with Rhodesia and Namibia, German and South African occupation, growing resistance of the black majority in Namibia, and BA-NAG.
