Agenda for Steering Committee meeting on August 6, 1974. The agenda will largely be devoted to discussing why the demonstration in Washington didn't come off, why we were able to gather our largest picket line yet for the African Dawn, and how to broaden and deepen support for the coalition in Philadelphia by careful organizing rather than spectacular affairs. The memo also included some news. The African Dawn was refused in New York and the nickel and iron are heading east again for what may be the fourth trip. The coalition has had invitations from two TV stations for some air time. The Byrd Amendment will likely be voted on August 5 or 6.
