Leaflet advertising Afro-American Studies Day on April 19 and a boycott of classes on April 23. The leaflet says Harvard University plays an integral role in a society that oppresses people along national, class, and sexual lines. The groups that constitute the Coalition for Awareness and Action believe that issues of racial and social injustice are interrelated and call on students to join in political action to secure the two pressing demands of strengthening and defending Afro-American Studies and achieving divestiture of Harvard’s South African related holdings. Members of the Coalition for Awareness and Action are American Indians at Harvard, Asian American Association, Black Students Association, Coalition for a Democratic University, Committee to Commemorate the '69 Strike, Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee, La Organizacion, Harvard-Radcliffe RAZA, Southern Africa Solidarity Committee, and Students Concerned About Women’s Studies.
