The newsletter says Nelson Mandela call on the international community to lift economic sanctions; shortly after that, on October 21, the Teachers' Retirement System TRS voted unanimously to call for an end to sanctions and for reinvestment in companies "without regard to whether a particular company is doing business in our with the Republic of South Africa." The newsletter says EARA (Educators Against Racism and Apartheid) has announced an end to its ll year boycott of Kellogg's cereals. The newsletter says the Educators' Coalition has a number of members at the CODESA Walk-a-thon; over $10,000 was raised for the ANC (African National Congress) by the Walk-a-thon. The newsletter includes a quote from Three Years of Destabilization by the Human Rights Commission.
