Leaflet aimed at prospective students visiting the University of Chicago campus, urging them to think twice before attending because the university continues to invest in apartheid. Its holdings in corporations that do business in South Africa totaled $133 million as of 1985. The leaflet says corporations like Mobil, General Motors, Parker Pen, and Xerox bolster the white racist regime by paying taxes and providing vital oil and technology to the government, yet the University of Chicago Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to continue investing in them despite a rising tide of pressure for divestment locally and across the nation. The leaflet says the University of Chicago also has a long history of racist policies toward its own students, staff, and surrounding community. The leaflet asks prospective students if they want their tuition dollars to support apartheid in South Africa and racism at home.
