This press release by the African Students' Association (ASA) of Oregon State University (OSU) quotes ASA President Winnie Tay expressing pleasure with President MacVicar's decision not to petition the NCAA regarding the planned trip to South Africa by the OSU wrestling team. The ASA notes that this decision conforms to the United Nations resolutions to isolate South Africa from all international sports. It also will promote the long-range interests of OSU and will insure eligibility of OSU wrestlers in the forthcoming season since it adheres to NCAA and AAU rules.
