Report on a proposed trip to South Africa including a statement adopted from a letter by Frank Anderson, chair of the planning committee, explaining the purpose of the trip. Anderson says Genesee Ecumenical Ministries (GEM) responded to an invitation from Bishop Desmond Tutu and the South African Council of Churches and attempted to send a group of Rochesterians to South Africa last summer but their visas were refused. Dick Gilbert reported that visas were denied despite the group’s meeting every condition imposed by the South Africa government. Gilbert says they planned visits to Kodak and Xerox facilities.
