This leaflet about "The Gods Must Be Crazy" apparently was distributed outside a showing of the movie in New Haven. The leaflet asks people to sign a petition and write letters of protest to the theater and to the International Division of 20th Century Fox. The leaflet says: It's not 'The Gods (who) Must be Crazy' but Twentieth Century Fox and white South African producer/director/screenwriter Jamie Uys, primary movers of this racist, sexist film.” It protests the portrayal of Black Africans as either primitive simpletons or incompetent, bloodthirsty buffoons, suggesting that Black rule would be disastrous. In fact, the world community has condemned apartheid as a "crime against humanity" and South Africa has been banned from the Olympic Games. Indeed, leaders of present-day South Africa were interned during World War II because of their pro-Nazi, anti-Semitic sympathies.
