Leaflet designed for use by groups across the country to sponsor events, such as a Dance for Freedom, to celebrate the Namibian people and raise funds. Despite murder, torture, and imprisonment by South Africa, Namibians are pressing their struggle for democracy and self-determination, led by the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO). Over 60,000 Namibians have fled their homes to escape South African terror. They have found a precarious haven in SWAPO's refugee camps in Angola, living in constant danger of South African attacks, like the 1978 Cassinga Massacre that took the lives of over 600 innocent refugees. It is in these camps that the foundations for a new nation are being laid. The Africa Fund has a number of projects to assist Namibian refugees. • Get Up Off Your Seat!
