Memorandum to members of National Committee of the American Committee on Africa by George Houser following his trip to an area of northern Angola held by nationalists of the Union of the Populations of Angola. An organization called the Portuguese-American Committee on Foreign Affairs has written to members of the National Committee claiming that ACOA backs "communist goals in Africa." Some information about this group is contained in a report filed with the Department of Justice by Selvage and Lee, a public relations firm that has a contract from a consortium of Portuguese businesses called the Overseas Companies of Portugal. [Note: The memorandum says a copy of Houser's report on his trip is enclosed. That document is available separately on this website.]
